A special exhibition, Rembrandt’s Amsterdam, is now on display at the MOA to commemorate 10 years of excellence in European studies at BYU. The exhibition is part of the BYU Center for the Study of Europe’s 10th anniversary festivities.
In connection with the exhibition, the museum is hosting an evening of Dutch culture entitled Amsterdam Old and New on Monday, April 1 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Visiting musicians from Amsterdam will perform music from their recent collaboration with BYU faculty composer Steve Ricks. BYU art history professor Martha Peacock, who curated the exhibition, will also speak about Rembrandt and his printmaking. There will be much to learn about Rembrandt and his influence in Europe, and we invite all to attend tonight’s special MOA event.
